What do you do when you feel at the end of your tether because of what has happened in your life? Like Job, the songwriter of Psalm 119, is a shadow of his former self, shrivelled up and burnt out, but he doesn't turn away from God's Word and promises. Even in the valley of shadow of death because of persecution, God is there and has not abandoned him, or us. He longs through his tears of suffering for God's comfort and vindication to come. And it does as Simeon holds the baby Jesus in his arms and gives thanks for God's salvation for him and us.
