‘Blessed Assurance’—2nd Thursday of the month
10:30 Morning Tea 11:00am Service
In 2016, St Swithun’s and the Anglican Retirement Villages (ARV) got together to start something completely new – a shortened Holy Communion Service designed especially for those who live with memory loss or mobility difficulties or who are not able to attend a longer service.
The morning at church begins at 10:30am with a cup of tea and a chat in the hall. The service begins at 11:00am and goes for just half an hour. The message is simple but offers the ‘blessed assurance’ of life after death for those who trust in the death and resurrection of Jesus.
The service has been very well received by all who have attended. Family and care givers have been amazed to find how well those in their care can remember the words of songs they learned in childhood.
Staff and volunteers are on hand to provide whatever assistance they can.
