Roger Chilton
Rector

Roger is the Rector or Senior Minister and has been in this role for a long time at Pymble. His background was in law and youth ministry. He has studied in Sydney, Vancouver, Canada, and Oxford, England, and has served in churches in both cities and country towns, yet he grew up locally in Turramurra. He is married to Sue and they have four adult children and six grandchildren all of whom bring him great joy. He loves good coffee over conversations with people but also thoroughly enjoys reading, walking, and catching fish. He thinks that he has the best job in the world because he gets paid to speak to people about Jesus.

Paul Sampson
Senior Assistant Minister

Paul is married to Cathy and they have three adult children. Paul has the joy of being the pastor of the new 9 am Family Church and the new 6 pm Night Church. He has previously ministered in churches in Sydney and Africa. Paul and his family served with CMS as missionaries in Kenya for nearly seven years where he served as a lecturer in a Bible college, pastor, church planter, preacher and Director of Academic Affairs.

Paul loves to teach the Bible to people in different contexts. He and his family enjoy traveling and meeting people from other cultures, and trying their cuisines!

Nigel Gray
Pathways Minister

Nigel is our Pathways Minister. His job is to help St Swithun's build better pathways to life in Jesus, into belonging to our church family and on to Christian maturity. Born and bred in Northern Ireland, Nigel studied theology there before going on to serve as a missionary in Spain. He is married to Delia and they have two daughters. His interests are swimming, art and the occasional bush walk.

Caroline Brigden
Children's Minister

Caroline has the privilege of being the Children’s Minister taking care of the Bible learning for   children of St. Swithun’s.  Caroline is a trained and experienced Early Childhood Teacher, previously the Director of Banksia Cottage at Macquarie University, incorporating Vacation and Occasional Care.  She has also been a Nanny, and a Boarding House Mistress at PLC Pymble. Caroline is studying part-time at Mary Andrews College, working towards a Certificate in Theology. Caroline treasures her three nephews and her niece, and is under the direction of her Corgi, Tilly, at home.

Tim Oslington
Youth Ministry Worker

Tim runs the Youth Ministry program at St. Swithuns, along with his wife, Emilia. Tim has been part of the St. Swithuns congregation for many years, and has previously volunteered for the Children’s ministry. Aside from his work with the Church, Tim is a postgraduate student in Philosophy at the University of Sydney, writing on aesthetics and literature. He enjoys reading, driving, and being outside. 

Emilia Oslington
Youth Ministry Worker

Emilia runs the Youth Ministry program at St. Swithuns, along with her husband, Tim. Emilia grew up in Oxfordshire, UK, where she studied Fine Art. She has only recently moved to Australia following their wedding in July 2019. She has previously volunteered for the Children’s ministry. Aside from her work with the Church, Emilia is a practicing artist, who paints and has worked with encaustic and ceramics. She loves reading and being out in the sunshine. 

Chris Hollister
Seniors' Minister

Chris is passionate about caring for older people, especially those living with cognitive and/or physical issues. She is privileged to be able to minister to and care for the pastoral needs of the older members of our congregation and the older members of our community who are house-bound or live in local residential care facilities. Chris also works for Anglicare as a residential care chaplain.

Fran Durand
Pastoral Care Coordinator

Fran is responsible for co-ordinating pastoral care across all four congregations in the parish. In her free time, Fran loves spending time with her children and grandchildren and getting in a round of golf when she can.

Phil Linquist
Choir & Traditional Music Director

A man of many talents, Phil stepped down from his role as Director of Music at Barker College to run his family hairdressing business at Lindfield. He not only leads our large Choir, but also conducts special events such as Messiah at Easter. 

Peter Hamilton
Organist

Peter is our principal Organist, who plays each Sunday at 10 am, and at other services. He also composes and arranges music for our Choir and congregation. 

Jo Forbes
Contemporary Music Director (Evening)

Joanna is a medical scientist by day and a musician by night. She has been involved in church bands for many years and co-ordinates the music at our two evening services. As well as music and science, she loves God, people, words and being outdoors.

Hugh Wilson
Contemporary Music Director (Morning)

Hugh has been walking with Jesus for 40 years, and been a professional musician since 1991. He has been a major-label artist, independent record producer, advertising composer, session singer and worship leader in New York City, Singapore and Sydney.

Jean Gurusamy
Parish Administrator

Jean has just been appointed as our new Parish Administrator. She looks forward to meeting everyone who visits the office. 

Donna Savage
Office Administration

Donna will greet you with a smile and inform you of upcoming events and Sunday services. Donna provides administrative support to all of our staff and congregation at St Swithun’s. She finds joy in serving our church in the office and worshipping at St Swithun’s every Sunday. When she’s not in the office she may be teaching scripture or running or swimming in the neighbourhood. She may also be at home doing housework...

Daniel Hasenauer
Media & Communications

Daniel is in charge of Media and Communications at St Swithun's. He manages this website (hi!), and helps out with general admin in the office. Daniel grew up in Sydney and is currently studying Law and Politics at The University of Sydney. His hobbies include driving, photography and reading.
