Art for All
At Art for All we love getting together to do art and craft. Besides the sharing of creative tips and ideas, there’s lots of time to chat over a cuppa and some beautiful home-made baking. As one of our members, Ruth, says: “I’ve been coming to Art for All since it started. I look forward to it every month. I do more chatting than artwork but that, for me, it what it’s all about.”
Around twenty artists meet each month to work on their own personal projects in a variety of mediums including painting, drawing, knitting, card making and embroidery.
Past highlights for the group include creating a work for a German-style Christmas market that raised funds to support a school for street kids in Hyderabad, running an exhibition to raise funds for the same school and knitting hand-made koala bears to go along with a welcome card from St Swithun’s that the Mayor of Kur-ring-gai distributed to new citizens at the annual Australian Day citizenship ceremony
You don’t need to be a member of St Swithun’s to join in the fun and people of all skill levels are very welcome. You just need to bring along your own equipment and materials to the hall at St Swithun’s on the first Wednesday of each month from 9.30 am – 12.00 pm.
